JEDI Glossary

The Fair Trade Federation (FTF) shares a vision of a world in which justice, equity, and sustainable development are at the heart of trade structures and practices so that everyone, through their work, can maintain a decent and dignified livelihood.

The FTF Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee formed in August 2020 to integrate principles of social justice and inclusion to further the FTF’s mission and vision. The Committee focuses on incorporating equity and justice into the way the FTF and its members grow, moving strategic priorities to be more in line with the principles and values that we espouse. See the JEDI Committee Charter for more information.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, the FTF JEDI Committee has compiled a glossary of terms used throughout our Code of Practice. Our intention is to offer shared language for our membership. These definitions are meant to be a starting point for deeper learning and understanding. View our glossary here.

The glossary is an ever-evolving collection of terms. Should you have any additional suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our JEDI Committee team through this form.
