Throughout the year, fair trade enterprises champion gender equality through women’s leadership and economic empowerment. On March 8, join us in celebrating women leaders in fair trade for International Women’s Day!
Herstory-telling: Tell the story of women leaders in your organization or the fair trade movement via a blog post, social media, or hosting an event. Find helpful graphics and resources for herstory-telling from the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) here.
Enterprise Tour: Gender equality starts early! Invite local students for a tour of your organization so they can witness how you are putting women’s leadership into action. During the tour, we encourage you to do short a video with the students for a chance to be featured by the Fair Trade Federation and the WFTO.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated across the world on March 8 each year. It is “a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political” (United Nations).
