The Fair Trade Federation Retailer Symposium is a unique opportunity for fair trade retailers to learn from the experts. This two day workshop will focus on strategic inventory control and retail metrics, designed to help retailers maximize their sales potential, especially during the critical holiday gift-giving season. Chris Solt (Fair Trade Federation, formerly of Ten Thousand Villages) and Kevin Natapow (Creative Retail Solutions, formerly of Momentum Fair Trade) will share practical tools and best practices to help make every inventory dollar perform.
The Retail Symposium will take place during the Windy City Gift Show and there will be 3 group sessions on Saturday August 13th from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
- Retail Metrics – 8:30am to 10:00am
With all of the data available to retailers, it may be tempting to engage in complicated data analysis. However, this can be overwhelming and time consuming, and in addition, can keep key staff off the floor, which hurts sales potential! We’ll review, discuss and identify a handful of practical, yet critical retail metrics to focus on to help your store perform to its potential.
- Inventory Management – 10:30am to 12:00noon
Having the right product at the right time is critical to the success of your store. We’ll highlight key best practices that can be implemented right away to help every inventory dollar perform, no matter which POS system you use. Also, we’ll discuss ways to keep the data in your POS system clean, and shrink to a minimum.
- Lunch – 12:00noon to 1:00pm
Lunch will be provided for all registered attendees!
- Holiday Ordering – 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Many stores experience the majority of annual sales in this critical time period, magnifying the impact of buying decisions. We’ll provide strategy and tools to build your inventory at the right levels, and at the right time, to maximize efficiency, impact, and profitability.
Afterwards, both Kevin and Chris will be available for free, custom one-on-one consultations during the rest of the day Saturday, and then again on Sunday. Sign up for an individual slot at the event.
Also, on Sunday you will also be able to visit with 20+ verified fair trade vendors, see new products, and make personal connections.
