A dynamic, multicultural, musical, educational and entertaining, participatory event from The Rhythm Inlet!

Covering playing techniques, rhythms, geographical and musical territory, gives you an
introduction and overview of many styles and cultural contexts. “A World of Frame Drums” explores the oldest known and most universal drum, found in N. Africa, the Middle East, Brasil, Native America, and the Celtic British Isles. “From West Africa to the Caribbean”, is an introduction to 2 of the most popular hand-drums, the Djembe and the Conga, which share a history of W. African culture and music. Then celebrate a grand finale rhythm parade, Brasilian Samba-style! No registration, fees, or musical experience needed.

If you're new to hand-drumming and would like to see if it's for you, or you're interested
in learning to play hand-drums but the variety leaves you unsure of where to begin, or
perhaps you’re already involved in drumming, but are looking for something new, or you
find yourself tapping your toes at the drum circle, and wanna know what it's all about, or
maybe you just enjoy learning about folkloric music and traditions as you expand your
understanding about other cultures.

Open to all adults, motivated teens, and accompanied youth ages 7 and up. Limited space and seating. Please arrive on time. Participation encouraged but not required. Instruments provided, yours welcome. Questions? Call us at 941-966-5800.
