Fair Trade in Your Community

Fair Trade Towns and Coalitions

Fair Trade Towns is a campaign of local, regional, and national groups who have joined together to further the fair trade movement. Following the example of communities in Europe, they support local, grassroots organizations by offering tools and support to become a fair trade town or community As of 2008, nine towns in North America had been named official fair trade towns (Amherst, MA, Brattleboro, VT; La Pêche, QC; Media, PA; Milwaukee, WI, Northampton, MA, San Francisco, CA, Taos, NM, and Wolfville, NS). Through Fair Trade Town initiatives, many others are working to commit their communities to fair trade.
