Fair Trade Stakeholders Council Endorsement

The Fair Trade Federation will be representing our members at the North American Fair Trade Stakeholders Council.  We lay forth the following position:

We reaffirm the 9 Principles of Fair Trade, as represented in the Fair Trade Federation Code of Practice.  The principles, which uphold our commitment to empower economically and socially marginalized producers in the Global South, do not need to be redefined. Rather, the Fair Trade Federation will work with the fair trade community to reaffirm these long held values and continue to set a high bar for fair trade in North America and around the world.
