Individuals and Non-Trading Organizations

While FTF is primarily an association of trading organizations, we encourage the involvement of individuals and non-trading non-profits through our Associates and Partner categories.

Individuals
Individuals interested in the business of Fair Trade are encouraged to become Fair Trade Associates. For US$75 / year, Associates receive updates from the Federation and learn about industry-wide issues. Benefits include:

  • Invitation to and discounts on the FTF annual conference and other activities
  • Access to FairTalk, a listserv sponsored by FTF and the Fair Trade Resource Network
  • Networking opportunities with FTF members

Interested individuals should return the Associates Information Form. Associates status pertains only to an individual and not to any business owned by or connected to the individual.


Non-Trading Partners
FTF partners with a number of non-profit, non-governmental organizations that seek to enhance the Fair Trade movement, but are not engaged in business.

Through financial or in-kind support, organizations work with FTF to develop of projects, to reach out to the public, to promote responsible consumerism, and to further the development of fair trade and the empowerment of artisans and farmers worldwide.

Partners will also

  • Be listed with their logo, a description, and a link to their website on the sponsors and partners page of the FTF website by contribution level
  • Be eligible to exhibit at FTF events, including the conference (special pricing applies for Principal Partners)
  • Be eligible to purchase advertising in FTF established communication channels and at FTF events
  • Receive one free copy of the FTF Trends Report
When possible, the FTF would publicize the publications and services of partners and turn to its partners to jointly sponsor activities.  Partners are expected to promote FTF, its members, and its events in their communication channels as appropriate.

Partnership is segmented into categories:
  • $5,000+ - Principal Partners
  • $2,000 - $4,999 -Affiliated Partners
  • $500 - $1,999 – Partners

In-kind donations may be considered as payment with values negotiated by FTF’s Executive Director and a representative of the partner organization.
